The biggest benefit of having your book is… having your book!

It may sound obvious, but it’s easy to forget all the different ways you can use it when you’re caught up in creating it.

Once finished, it becomes the flagship asset, the ‘thing’ you can offer, reference, and refer people to, in many different campaigns.

The Background

The birth of Focus’s book “How to Have a Healthy Love Affair” comes from her own experience of getting married at 18 and realizing she wasn’t ready for it. Three weeks into her marriage, she and her husband were struggling with a pile of unwashed clothes, and she felt the pressure of balancing her full-time studies, part-time job, and household responsibilities. Her mother had warned her that she wasn’t ready for marriage, which fueled Focus’s determination to prove her wrong.

However, the marriage ended in pain and taught her valuable lessons about the dynamics of humanity. Focus became hungry for knowledge and sought to master communication in a way that caused a win-win situation. The book’s tagline, “You could be happy or you could be right, but you can’t be both,” emphasizes the importance of communication and compromise in relationships.

Focus learned the power of communication during college, realizing how words, tone of voice, body language, and reactions can impact a conversation. With degrees in early childhood education and communication, she wanted to use her knowledge to build people up and achieve a win-win situation. However, she struggled with controlling her reactions and tempering herself in conversations.

Focus realized the impact of her words on others and created an empire to help people be authentic and communicate effectively. She offers Lunch and Learn sessions for businesses, coaching and consulting for families, singles, unloved partners, married couples, and divorcees. Focus believes that communication is essential in every aspect of life, even for the geek in the basement trying to sell something. She aims to teach people how to build relationships that work and get them the love and success they desire.

Focus explains that she picks up clients by attending networking events and having conversations that help her understand people’s needs. She also receives referrals from her clients. To reach a larger audience, she wrote a book offering more personal interactions and opportunities to connect. She believes that personal connections are essential in business and that her book will help her reach more people.

Overall

Focus’s message is clear: we all must learn how to communicate effectively and build healthy relationships in every area of our lives. If we can master this skill, we can achieve success and happiness.
