What is a CTA

A call to action is a specialized text meant to elicit a positive response from your desired target market. This response is usually sales driven.

The back cover is crucial for persuading your reader to take the next step if the most effective use of your book is to find invisible leads. It’s simple to treat this as an afterthought and attempt to “persuade” them to make an appointment rather than proactively considering the Minimum Viable Commitment step you may ask them to take.

The benefit of this second approach is to sift & sort hotter leads by having them self-select as more interested, as well as giving still invisible readers, those who got a copy without opting in, an easy way to make themselves visible.

When the book is sold or given away physically, you will not get lead details, making it difficult to cannot contact them later. This is where the back cover CTA comes in. when written well, the reader should feel compelled to follow through with the detailed steps.

Catching your audience’s attention and convincing them to continue interacting with your brand can be challenging. In a previous post, we spoke about the importance of book titles. In short, we concluded that the title’s purpose is to catch your customers’ attention and compel them to pick the book up(physically) or sign up to send it to them.

The back cover is the next important part of the book, arguably more important than the content itself. The CTA on the back cover explicitly convinces the reader to take the next step. as a lead generation book, it would make no sense for it not to generate leads.

How to write a good CTA

It must resonate with your target audience to get the most out of a CTA. before you begin writing one, you need to determine the specific action you want the reader to take. This will determine the nature of the CTA you employ. In the case of our lead generation books, the CTA will more often than not be a prompt to sign up for a course or a service.

keep it short

Wherever possible, avoid long sentences. Use a short phrase that hits the nail on the head.
